Careers at Haag: Building the Team That Is Reshaping African Real Estate

We are hiring engineers, product managers, and customer success managers who want to build the platform that manages how Africa lives and works. Here is what it is like to join the team.

Careers at Haag: Building the Team That Is Reshaping African Real Estate

Why Haag

Africa is urbanising faster than any continent on earth. By 2050, Lagos alone will have over 30 million people — most of them living in managed residential estates. The software that manages those estates does not exist yet, at least not in a form that works for the African context. That is what we are building.

Haag is not a side project or a feature of a larger platform. It is a focused, well-funded company with one mission: to be the operating system for every managed property in Africa.

What we value

Impact over activity

We do not measure engineers by lines of code or product managers by number of meetings. We measure by outcomes — did the feature you shipped reduce service resolution time? Did the billing change you proposed improve collection rates? If the answer is "I am not sure," we help you find out.

Africa-first thinking

Every decision starts with the question: does this work in Lagos? Not as a secondary consideration, but as the primary one. If a feature works in Lagos, it will work in Munich. The reverse is rarely true.

Ownership, not delegation

When you own a feature, you own it end-to-end — from customer research to architecture to implementation to monitoring. There is no "that is someone else's job" at Haag. There is "that is my feature, and it will work."

Continuous learning

Technology moves fast, and facility management is a domain most engineers have never worked in. We invest in learning — a dedicated learning budget, conference attendance, and regular knowledge-sharing sessions. You will not just grow as an engineer; you will grow as a domain expert in a market that is about to explode.

Open roles

We are actively hiring across three areas:

  • Engineering — Angular frontend, Kotlin backend, Flutter mobile, and DevOps. We want engineers who care about the user, not just the code.
  • Product — product managers who can talk to a facility manager in Lekki and an engineer in the same hour, and translate between both worlds.
  • Customer Success — people who will sit with a facility manager for a week, watch how they work, and come back with ten feature ideas.

What it is like to work here

We are remote-first, Africa-first, and impact-first. We do not care where you work from, as long as you deliver. We do care that you understand the African context — because our customers do not have the option to ignore it.

The team is small (under 30 people), senior-heavy, and distributed across Nigeria, Ghana, and the diaspora. We pay above market for the African tech ecosystem, offer equity to every full-time employee, and provide comprehensive health insurance. But the real perk is the work — you will build software that millions of people will interact with every day, in a market with no serious competition yet.

How to apply

Send your CV (or LinkedIn profile, or GitHub profile — we are not picky about format) to [email protected]. Tell us what you want to build, not just what you have built. We respond to every application within five business days.
